What are PV Panels?

----- ”PV panel” is the common name for a photovoltaic panel. Literally translated photovoltaic means "light-electricity". Photo- means light and -voltaic means electrical current or electricity.

----- A PV panel produces electricity from light. When we talk about a PV panel we mean a panel that is meant to transform sunlight energy directly into electrical energy (electricity). We sometimes call this solar electricity.

----- PV panels are often referred to as solar panels. Panels are made up of smaller sections called solar cells. The terms "PV cell" and "solar cell" are synonymous.
