Simple Solar Cell Circuit

The simple solar cell circuit has 2 main components, a solar cell and a light bulb, that are connected by wires.

The wire from the negative terminal on the solar cell connects to the side of the light bulb stem and the wire from the positive terminal connects to the bottom of the light bulb stem.

Photons, that are part of sunlight, hit the surface of the solar cell and activate electrons in the cell.

Electrons flow out of the negative end of the solar cell and through the light bulb, causing it to light up, and back into the positive terminal of the solar cell.
